About our blog!
Welcome to our blog. By "us" and "our" I mean myself (Laura - online sales manager) and Nancy (Body Double Swimwear's owner). The idea behind this blog is to offer our loyal customers a way to keep up with the goings on at our store (or I should say storeS...more on that later) - and our NEW website! We will be posting updates about what we have been up to. Also, by being a follower of our blog you will know first about our upcoming sales, discounts and specials. We will also be adding other topics of interest from upcoming 2010 lines to what the newset styles and trends are.
About Body Double Swimwear
For those of you who are new to our store - welcome! We are located just outside the resort area of Ocean City, Maryland in the quiet beach town of Fenwick Island, Delaware. You can find us at 1007 Coastal Highway. We pride ourselves on carrying the largest selection of swimwear at the beach. We stock our store chock full of every designer you can think of. No matter what you shape or size - we have the suit for you! Up to EE cup, long torso, separates, masectomy, maternity, etc. We also carry a full line of Body Double Swimwear separates. (Our bestselling items year after year!) Because we manufacture our own line right on site we are available to make alterations to any suit you like. We can add padding, shorten straps, raise the legs..whatever you need to get your suit looking perfect - we can do it! We always have a seamstress on site during store hours. And if you cannot find what you are looking for do not worry. We can MAKE a suit specifically for you, tailored to fit your personal needs. We are your local swimwear experts - both in store and online!

What are we celebrating? Our Body Double swimwear store is FINALLY online! I am thrilled to say that we are ready to accept your custom orders through the use of our website. I have set up the site so that you can choose your style top, bottom or cover-up, size and then fabric. It is really easy to use. We have posted all the different fabric swatches online and we can also send you swatch samples for free! I am so happy to finally have this option for our customers. Over the years we have gotten to know many of our customers on a personal basis and we are so grateful for your loyalty to our brand. Our website is full of amazing deals on pre-made swimwear in addition to the custom swimwear option. Anything you can find in our store will eventually also be available online. Since we are located in a resort area, it can be hard to get to us when you need something. Hopefully our new website will help us to get our items to you without you having to make the trip to the beach. Check out the site here:

What's the deal?
If you have recently noticed that we are not open - don't panic. We have taken on the monumental challenge of completely redesigning our Body Double store. Although it has taken a bit longer than expected the results will be amazing. We will be re-opening very soon with a fun, funky new look. We realize that some of our customers have come to get suits and we haven't been open. I assure you we are trying very hard to get this remodel done so we can open back up. We will be sure to keep you updated on this exciting news!
In more exciting news...
Okay...believe it or not - we are in the process of opening a SECOND store! This new store will be located very close to the original Body Double. (actually right across the street). The concept of this new store is simple. We have gotten lots of feedback over the years about a lack of quality upscale swimwear and resort wear for both men and women in our area. While we pride ourselves on offering lots of options for women, we have never had the room to also sell men's items. Thus the brainstorm idea behind our new store. We will be selling ONLY Tommy Bahama items. From their swimwear to clothing - we will have an entire store dedicated to meeting the needs of those who maybe can't find what they need at the local surf shop. We are super excited about this new store. It will be a different look and feel than Body Double - and unlike any other shop in the area. We will continue to keep you updated on this exciting news as well!
